  Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was born on 13 th May 1956 in Papanasam, in Tamilnadu. His father R.S.V. Ratnam, western educated, traditional Brahmin Mother- Visalakshmi Parents called him Ravi Shankar. Sri Sri is the title.   Childhood : He was a gifted child Ravi was devotional from his young days.   Sri Narayana Guru and the Izhava Movement Narayana Guru was born in 1856, at Chempazhanthi, a village about ten miles north east of Trivandrum. He was the only son among the four children of Madan Asan and Kutty Amma. The boy was called Nanu. Later his followers called him Gurudevan.   He began his education at the age of five.
